About Grease Shields
A commercial kitchen cleaning business focused on accessible hood, canopy and exhaust service, plus trap and equipment service across the Island of Newfoundland, with St. John's and surrounding communities as the primary local focus.
Grease Shields is a commercial kitchen cleaning business serving the Island of Newfoundland, with St. John's and surrounding communities as the primary local focus. We help restaurants, hotels, cafeterias and other food-service operations maintain their hood, canopy and accessible exhaust components, their grease traps and their kitchen equipment.
What we do
- Commercial hood and canopy cleaning, including accessible grease filters and fan components.
- Cleaning of accessible exhaust-system areas within the scope confirmed for the site.
- Hood system maintenance, planned around the components and intervals that suit each site.
- Commercial grease trap cleaning, visual checks and maintenance records.
- Grease trap repair and maintenance support where the issue involves the trap or its accessible components.
- Commercial kitchen equipment cleaning within a confirmed scope.
- Scheduled maintenance planning for recurring hood and grease trap service.
How we approach the work
We keep the scope practical and explicit. Before work starts, we confirm what will be cleaned, how the area will be accessed and what cannot be reached safely.
- Scope first. You know which components are included before the visit begins.
- Access and safety. We work on components that can be reached safely and identify restrictions rather than working around them silently.
- Clear limits. We do not describe inaccessible sections as cleaned, and we do not present cleaning as a compliance certificate.
- Useful records. We provide service documentation that covers the work performed, limitations, visible observations and the recommended next step.
- Scheduling support. We try to work around kitchen operations where possible and help you plan recurring service.
Scope and limitations
Hood, canopy and exhaust systems vary widely. Some duct sections, roof components and confined areas may not be accessible during a standard visit. Grease traps also vary in design and access. We explain the limits that apply to your site and recommend a qualified trade or your authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) when a question falls outside our scope.
Service records
After a visit, you receive a record for your maintenance file. It includes the date, the work performed, any access limitations, visible observations and recommendations. The record is intended to support your own maintenance planning, not to certify compliance or fire safety.
Working with your team
Tell us about access restrictions, preferred service times, previous service history and any known problems. The more context you share, the easier it is to plan a visit that fits your kitchen and gives you a useful record afterward.
Service area
We serve the Island of Newfoundland, with St. John's, Mount Pearl, Paradise and Conception Bay South as our primary local area. Availability depends on location, service type, schedule and any travel arrangements. See the service area page or contact us to confirm the visit details.
